A lovely cover

This is not the first time that the cover is what first attracted me to a book. Having never been to Trinidad despite having known several people from there while I was at university and with no immediate plans to visit, I would otherwise probably not have picked it up. The exact publication date  is a mystery other than it was after 1952, as it does refer to the Queen’s accession to the throne. The publisher is Baynard Press in London, perhaps most famous for their lithograph posters for London Transport and railways. The endpapers show a map of the island and in the 16 pages there are several colour photographs.

About Carol Henshaw

I am a retired medic & academic who volunteers in this bookshop. I love books, travelling, photography, painting and printing, all sorts of music (choral singing now & hope to take up the saxophone), gardening and natural history, arts & crafts, hanging out with old friends and making new ones.
